What This Means
Scrub, regrowth and unwanted vegetation cleared so the land can be used again.
Land clearing is taking a property that has got away from you and getting it back to ground you can use. Scrub, regrowth, blackberry, gorse and unwanted vegetation cleared, whether you are preparing to build, fence, graze, replant or just want to see what you actually own.
We clear vegetation at ground level and mulch it on-site, so there is no burn pile and no trucks carting green waste away at your cost. Trees and features you want kept, stay. We mark them on the walk-through before a machine starts.
Where stumps, roots or buried timber are in the way of the intended use, we can assess subsoil mulching and land reclamation as a separate part of the scope. Clearing is not engineered site preparation or pad construction.
Every property is walked first. We mark what stays, flag anything protected, and give you the scope and price in writing before any work starts.
Bendigo based, working across Central Victoria, and Victoria-wide for larger-scale projects.
The Challenge
Subsurface Conditions Decide The Scope.
Clearing land is more than removing standing vegetation. The difficulty is usually below the surface, and in what previous use of the land has left behind.
- 01
Buried Stumps and Timber
Previous clearing can leave stumps and roots that surface once work begins. Suitable stump work is separately assessed and agreed; it is not automatically included in vegetation clearing.
- 02
Legacy Fencing and Dumped Material
Old fencing, buried wire and dumped material may be encountered. Stop affected work and agree how hazards will be managed. General rubbish removal is not included in the vegetation scope.
- 03
Underground and Overhead Services
Water, power, gas and communications determine how ground can be worked. Before You Dig checks and on-site locating are completed before any machine disturbs soil.
- 04
Restricted Access
Tight corners between sheds, fences and trees are handled by opening access first, or by bringing in a smaller machine where the larger one cannot reach.
- 05
Retained Trees and Boundaries
What stays is agreed and marked at the site walk. Everything else is cleared; retained vegetation is left undamaged.
Solutions
What we can do for you.
We supply the right machinery for the job. You tell us what the land needs, we work out the method.
Machine Brushcutting
Saplings and woody growth up to around three inches cut back.
Stump Grinding
Suitable property-scale stump work separately assessed and agreed after clearing.
Access & Fence Line Clearing
Tracks and fence lines cleared wide enough to use.
Vegetation Cleanup
Suitable scrub, regrowth and ground-level vegetation cleared within the agreed scope; hazardous tree work and non-vegetation debris excluded.
Site Clearing
Vegetation cleared ahead of sheds, fencing or new use of the land.
Selective Clearing
What stays is marked; everything else goes.
Large-Scale Site Clearing
Big acreage and development sites cleared ahead of subdivision, solar or civil works.
Machinery
Choosing the right machinery for the job.
Machinery selection is based on the vegetation, site access and the finish agreed with you.
Our experienced operators use machinery and attachments suited to the work. We assess the site and confirm the equipment and method before work begins.
Tracked skid steers
Mulching heads
Machine-mounted brushcutters
Stump grinders

What another year costs you.
Most people put this work off one more season. Here's what actually happens when you do, straight, no fearmongering.
Read the full breakdown →- 01Scrub and regrowth thickens every season it is left, and a clearing job put off a year costs more to do than it does today.
- 02Overgrown ground hides broken fences, erosion, weeds and feral harbour you cannot see until you walk it.
- 03Uncleared scrub around sheds and boundaries is fuel sitting there waiting for a bad summer.
- 04Land you cannot walk or drive through is land you cannot use, check or sell at its best.
Is stump grinding included in every clearing job?
No. Property-scale stump grinding is assessed and quoted where needed. Ground-level clearing can leave stumps and roots in place. The treatment area and achievable finish are agreed separately; grinding does not guarantee complete root removal.
What happens if hidden hazards change the clearing scope?
We stop the affected work area and discuss the hazard, safe next steps and any revised scope. Additional work or another specialist may be required. Changes are agreed before proceeding; an original quote does not automatically include unidentified obstructions.
What is the difference between land clearing and forestry mulching?
Forestry mulching grinds standing vegetation into a mulch layer on the ground, and it is how we clear most scrub and regrowth. Land clearing is the broader job of getting a property back to usable ground. Where below-ground woody material is in the way, subsoil mulching may be worth assessing. We tell you straight on the walk-through which method your property needs.
Do you remove the trees or just clear around them?
We can assess selective clearing or removal of suitable unwanted trees within an approved work area. Retained trees, protected vegetation and exclusion areas are marked before work begins. Hazardous trees or specialist arboricultural work may require another contractor; removal is not determined by preference alone.
What happens to everything you clear?
Suitable vegetation is mulched on-site, with coverage and material handling agreed in the written scope. Timber stacking or removal is assessed separately where required. Non-vegetation waste and hazardous material are not automatically included. Material must be kept clear of waterways and handled in accordance with approval conditions.
Do you clear land ready for building?
We can clear vegetation within an approved building area, but that does not make the ground ready for construction. Cut and fill, levelling, pad work, compaction and engineering certification are not included. Below-ground timber and future settling need separate assessment before building.
How do I know what my clearing job needs?
Tell us the intended use and provide the work area, photos and any approvals. We assess vegetation, access and the required finish on-site, then provide a written scope identifying the proposed methods, inclusions and exclusions.
Do you travel outside Bendigo for land clearing?
Yes. We're based in Bendigo and work across Central Victoria as standard, and Victoria-wide for larger-scale projects.
How much does land clearing cost?
Every property is different. Vegetation density, access, slope and what you want done with the cleared material all change the job. We don't guess over the phone. We walk the property with you and put the full scope and price in writing.
How long will my clearing job take?
The work area, vegetation density, access, material handling and intended finish determine the estimated duration. We discuss the timeframe during assessment and advise if weather, restrictions or newly identified hazards change the schedule.
Can you clear just part of my property?
Yes. Selective clearing can target agreed paddocks, boundaries, fence lines or access routes. The work area, retained vegetation and exclusions are marked before starting and recorded in the quote. Required approvals apply to the actual footprint.
Do you spray weeds as well?
Not yet. Commercial weed spraying needs a Commercial Operator Licence (COL) from Agriculture Victoria and Ironbark is arranging it now — spraying starts once the licence is in hand. Mechanical clearing and slashing are available today, and chemical follow-up can be arranged with a licensed contractor in the meantime.
