    Service 06

Vineyard & Solar Farm Vegetation Management.

Rows, firebreaks and infrastructure kept clear on solar farms and vineyards.

    What This Means

Scheduled vegetation management for solar farms and vineyards.

We slash between and under vineyard rows, solar arrays and infrastructure where fuel builds up and mowers struggle to get in.

Low-clearance work close to vines, posts, panels and cabling, done carefully so nothing gets clipped.

One pre-summer pass, a scheduled program through the season, or overflow support when your own crew is stretched.

Beyond the rows we maintain perimeter firebreaks, internal access tracks and clearance around inverters, transformers, switchgear and cable runs, and we can pull posts, wire and vines out of an old vineyard and mulch the lot on site.

Every visit can be photographed and documented for your Fire Risk Management Plan and compliance records, and we carry current public liability cover and paperwork for site inductions.

    If Left Unchecked

    What another year costs you.

Most people put this work off one more season. Here's what actually happens when you do, straight, no fearmongering.

    Read the full breakdown →
    • 01Grass cured above 10 cm between panel rows is flash fuel, a grass fire under an array threatens panels, cabling and inverters and puts your generation revenue on the line.
    • 02A missing or overgrown perimeter firebreak breaches most solar site Fire Risk Management Plans and can trigger CFA, council or insurer action.
    • 03Tall vegetation around inverters, transformers and battery enclosures properties airflow, hides rodent damage to cabling, and slows emergency response.
    • 04Overgrown internal access tracks stop maintenance crews, inspection contractors and fire trucks getting to the fault when it matters.
    • 05For vineyards, long grass in the mid-row is the ignition path straight into the canopy, and unmanaged fuel loads can void insurance coverage.

    Common Questions

Vineyard & Solar Farm Vegetation Management, asked and answered.

Do you work on operational solar farms and battery sites?

Yes. We handle between-row mowing, perimeter firebreaks, access tracks, and controlled clearance around inverters, transformers, battery enclosures, switchgear and cable runs. Machinery is kept clear of posts, cabling and PV frames, and each visit is photographed and documented for your Fire Risk Management Plan records.

How wide should a solar farm perimeter firebreak be?

Most Victorian solar sites specify a maintained perimeter of around 10 metres, but the exact width and frequency come from your site's own Fire Risk Management Plan, planning permit and any CFA or council notices. Bring the plan to the site walk-through and we scope maintenance to match it.

Do you slash underneath the panels?

No, we work the row spacings between arrays, not underneath the panels themselves. That's the standard for damage risk and warranty, we won't put a slasher or mulcher under live PV.

Can you mid-row slash vineyards without touching the vines?

Yes. Cut height set to suit the property, no debris thrown into the canopy, posts, drippers and trellis wire respected, root zones left alone. Same crew and same machines we use on solar sites.

Do you remove old vineyard vines if the whole block needs to come out?

Yes. We pull posts, wire and vines and mulch the material on-site, leaving clean ground ready for replanting or redevelopment. It's a cost-effective way to clear an old vineyard without burning or hauling debris off the property.

Do you handle ongoing maintenance through fire season?

Yes, scheduled maintenance programs through spring, summer and the declared Fire Danger Period are a core part of the offer. One-off pre-summer pass, quarterly rotation, or overflow support when your regular crew is stretched, we'll build the schedule around your plan.

Are you insured and compliant to work on renewable energy sites?

Yes, current public liability cover, ABN and GST registration. We work to CFA and council standards, keep machinery clear of PV infrastructure, and can provide documentation for site inductions and your compliance records.
